While ASAN AUNZ is concerned at the NDIS decision to move Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 2 from List A, it is important for all NDIS participants to understand that while the conditions required to prove support needs are more stringent, many will still be supported at the same levels. You may now need to provide more evidence of the impact of your disability such as functional assessments like the Adaptive Behaviour Scale and reports from your psychologist and OT about how you cope on a day to day basis and what kind of supports you need.
There have been no announcements of changes for people who are already accessing NDIS supports. It is important to understand that if you or your family member do not receive adequate support funding, there is help available to request reviews.
